Year 6 are starting using Python today. They used the trinket Turtle Setup (trinket.io)
Come back later for photos of our lesson!
Well done to all of these children who were in the stripy book this week.
We are very proud of them.
Today we have had Maths Day. The children came to school dressed as different occupations that use maths or a rockstar. We spent a little bit of time talking about how we wold use maths for certain jobs. The children had some really good ideas for this.
Then the children had lots of fun ordering numbers to 100 counting on and back in 1s. We completed number lines with missing numbers counting forwards and backwards using their knowledge of place value.
We also practiced counting sets of objects by grouping in tens.
As part of our English work Year 1 went on a visit to Hindsford’s very own beach. The children had a brilliant time paddling int he sea, building sandcastles and playing beach games. We will be writing a recount of our day later this week.
This week, we have continued our Marvellous Me topic by focusing on our sense of sight. So far, we have explored lots of different equipment that helps us to see more clearly or changes our vision like periscopes, magnifying glasses, microscopes and kaleidoscopes. In Literacy, we have looked at books
where we had to search and find for particular things and we wrote a class poem about what we can see through the window.
Daniel really went the extra mile with the tsunami work set today! Well done!
