In our first hockey lesson this week, we practised holding the stick correctly whilst dribbling.
As part of our history topic, this week we visited Ashley Mining Museum.
Today we used the playground to carry out a practical spelling activity looking at words with ‘ough’ letter strings and the different sounds represented by these.
Year 6 are starting using Python today. They used the trinket Turtle Setup (trinket.io)
Come back later for photos of our lesson!
Well done to all of these children who were in the stripy book this week.
We are very proud of them.
Today we have had Maths Day. The children came to school dressed as different occupations that use maths or a rockstar. We spent a little bit of time talking about how we wold use maths for certain jobs. The children had some really good ideas for this.
Then the children had lots of fun ordering numbers to 100 counting on and back in 1s. We completed number lines with missing numbers counting forwards and backwards using their knowledge of place value.
We also practiced counting sets of objects by grouping in tens.
As part of our English work Year 1 went on a visit to Hindsford’s very own beach. The children had a brilliant time paddling int he sea, building sandcastles and playing beach games. We will be writing a recount of our day later this week.
